Description

The Bordeaux Population Health (BPH) Research Center, from the University of Bordeaux and the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM) offers two 16 months positions (with possibility of renewal) for data analysts of high-throughput genomic data. Positions are to work on deciphering genomic variants (including structural ones) associated with cardiovascular diseases, in particular cardiovascular complications in COVID19 patients, from genome-wide genotype and whole genome sequencing data. The candidates will work under the supervision of Dr David-Alexandre Trégouët (Inserm research director in statistical genetics & molecular epidemiology). These positions are linked to the Laboratory of Excellence on Medical Genomics (GenMed). The candidate will benefit from close interactions with the Bordeaux Bioinformatics Center, the National Center for Research on Human Genomics and several cardiovascular clinical laboratories.


EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic applicants (PhD is not mandatory) with experience in bioinformatics of whole exome/genome seq data analysis
  • Excellent programming skills in R, Linux, Bash, and if possible other programming languages (eg Python)
  •  Flexibility and interest in expanding knowledge and applications to other fields of molecular epidemiology
