Description
We are looking for a motivated bioinformatician (IE or IR level) to join the Jagla Lab at iGReD-Clermont-Ferrand.
The position, funded by a “AFM-Telethon” program, represents an exciting opportunity to investigate the molecular, and cellular diversity of the muscle system, and dissect transcriptional and post transcriptional mechanisms (RNA modifications, splicing code...)
The proposed position will offer rapid and promising publication opportunities on these three themes:
1) Understanding the establishment of the muscle pattern. Given the close communication between muscles, muscle stem cells and tendons required for locomotion, we want to assess how transcription is controlled in these interconnected cell types in time and space to give rise to functional muscles.
Applied Methods:
Tissue-specific single nuclei (sn)-RNAseq /ATAC-seq as well as a CUT&RUN
2) Studying post-transcriptional mechanisms involved in modulating proteins diversity in muscles cells.
Applied Methods:
Tissue specific Nascent RNA (INTACT) and Translated RNA identification (TRAP), Differential Splicing analysis
3) Determining the role of m6A RNA modifications in transcription regulation and R-loop dynamics in cell culture and in the muscle development context.
Applied Methods:
BisMapR-seq, CUT&RUN, miCLIP

Host Institute: The GReD Institute (www.gred-clermont.fr) is a scientifically vibrant interdisciplinary research center focusing on the genetic and epigenetic control of normal development and pathological states.
Clermont-Ferrand is located next to the Chaîne des Puys - Limagne listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Many trails bypass the volcanoes, connect them and lead to their peaks. The exploration of these volcanic landscapes combines exceptional panoramas, sumptuous nature, wild fauna and protected flora. A jewel of natural heritage!
