Join us in an exciting human, scientific, and industrial adventure towards a truly circular economy!

As part of our development, we are hiring a: Molecular Enzyme Modeling Specialist F/M

Job description:

The successful candidate will reinforce the teams working on the optimization of depolymerases of Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) as well as other polymers studied by the Innovation team (notably polyamides). He/she will be a key member of ambitious research projects focusing on the engineering of enzymes for degrading plastic polymers.

You will be mainly in charge of studying the structure/function relationships of enzymes of interest using a wide range of molecular modelling techniques. The development and implementation of computational tools adapted to specific needs of enzyme discovery and optimization will also be part of your mission. You will also be responsible for monitoring Artificial Intelligence-based projects.

Based on modelling results, you will be able to propose enzymatic engineering strategies and enzyme targets to the experimental team, and you will work in close collaboration with the I. André molecular modeling and design group of TBI's Enzymatic Catalysis and Molecular Engineering team. You will also monitor external modelling collaborations. You will report to the Director of Scientific Programs.

Your main tasks:

Working in close collaboration with Carbios' Scientific Management and team, and TBI's Enzymatic Catalysis and Molecular Engineering team, you will:

• Investigate structure/function relationships of enzymes of interest using molecular modeling and simulation techniques.

• Develop, set up and implement computational tools and methods adapted to the specific needs of enzyme discovery, optimization and studies.

• Propose enzyme engineering strategies and targets based on modeling results to the experimental team.

• Develop, set up and implement Artificial Intelligence tools adapted to the specific needs of enzyme engineering.

• Analyze experimental results using molecular modeling approaches.

• Collaborate with external molecular modeling teams.

• Liaise with biophysics specialists (Crystallography, NMR, etc.).

• Contribute to the drafting of reports, scientific presentations, articles and patents based on research results.

• Maintain a scientific and technical watch on subjects related to his/her activity.
