Description
Biomemory is dedicated to minimizing the data storage industry's carbon footprint through innovative biology. We aim to develop an economical and environmentally friendly DNA data storage solution, addressing the critical challenge of accommodating rapidly expanding data volumes while significantly cutting ecological impacts.
The company is located in Paris. The storage solution we envision building is based on new kind of DNA synthesis developed by Biomemory and its academic partners: CNRS and Sorbonne Université.
We seek a dynamic and skilled individual with a PhD or equivalent in bioinformatics, biotechnology, or computer sciences with automated liquid-handler experience to join our multidisciplinary team.


Your Missions
In close collaboration with the Lead R&D and the Biomemory's scientific direction, to develop new digital tools to help R&D and contribute to the rapid development of a fast-growing company through the following missions:
● Development of pipelines and packages for DNA Data Storage
● Management of at least one junior Bioinformatician
● Development and maintenance of our DNA sequencing and analysis pipelines
● Improvement of our algorithms and code (Complexity, Time, GPU-compatibility)
● Support for the molecular biology R&D team
● Project development and management


Requirements
The job has been made for you if you have:
● a Ph. D. or a Master degree in the field of bioinformatics or computer
sciences, at least 5 years of experience in the field
● Expertise in standard bioinformatics software suites
● Expertise in 3rd generation sequencing analysis techniques (Oxford Na-
nopore)
● Proficiency in programming in Python, Bash and C
● Proficiency in using containers and orchestrators
● Proficiency in writing technical and scientific documents
● Experience with Cloud Computing
● Experience with git and working in a team environment
● Knowledge in molecular biology
● A level of English B2 to C1 (Common European Framework of Reference
for Languages)
● Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Docs


What would be a plus?
• Knowledge in automation in biology, for example: piloting pipeting robot
• Knowledge in Error Correction Codes and Compression algorithms
• Theoretical knowledge and experience in basic molecular biology (PCR, molecular cloning, synthetic biology).

Recruitment process
