Description

Gustave Roussy, Europe's leading cancer center, is recruiting a Bioinformatician or Computational biologist to join our group Research Unit 1015, headed by Dr. L. ZITVOGEL, as part of Florent GINHOUX's team working on the “spatial transcriptomic and myeloid cell” project.

The position is for a 12-month fixed-term contract (with the possibility of a 6-month extension).
Possibility of extension to a permanent site contract.

As a full-time employee in the Ginhoux Laboratory, the candidate will work to develop bioinformatics pipelines for spatial trancriptomic (e.g., single-cell RNAseq, image analysis, spatial transcriptomics, etc.), but also on the analysis of the data generated in the lab.

Fluent programming in Python and advanced knowledge in one of the other languages (R, Perl, Julia, Matlab, or Java) is required.

Experience in applied machine learning and/or deep learning is a plus.

We are developing spatial technologies (Merscope, Xenium, Visium HD, MACSIMA) to study the spatial interaction between the immune system and different types of tumours (HNSCC, PDAC,Neuroblastoma, Breast, Lung…). Other techniques will be associated with these studies to understand the tumoral microenvironment fully (Proteomics, Metabolomic, Single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq).

We are looking for someone with experience in single-cell RNA-seq data analysis and multi-omics data integration, knowledge of immunology, and an eagerness to learn more.

Basic Qualifications

• Master’s degree in bioinformatics/computational biology or a related field with 1+ year of experience, or a PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, or a related field.

• Proficient in Python, Unix, R, and advanced knowledge in other languages.

Good knowledge of immunology

Additional Qualifications and Skills

• Knowledge in Linux shell scripting, high-performance computing, and workflow management systems such as Snakemake or Nextflow

• Ability to interact well with a broad constituency including students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, and research staff.

Additional Information

• This is a one-year term position with the possibility of extension based on performance
