Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and talented computational Researcher to join this ANR-funded project investigating the effects of malaria parasites on erythropoiesis. The project is a collaboration with the teams of Fréderique Verdier and Catherine Lavazec in Institut Cochin. We aim to uncover the complex interactions between malaria parasites and red blood cell production in vitro and in vivo.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the data analysis of human and parasite single-cell transcriptomics data.
  • Develop and implement computational pipelines for the analysis and interpretation of high-throughput sequencing data.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, including biologists, bioinformaticians, and clinicians.
  • Lead the preparation of manuscripts.
  • Mentor graduate students as needed.

Qualifications:

  • MSc. and/or PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, or a related field.
  • Strong background in single-cell transcriptomics and experience with data analysis tools
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R or Python.
  • Experience with high-performance computing environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the research environment.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in malaria research or hematopoiesis.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods for genomics data analysis.
  • Demonstrated track record of peer-reviewed publications.
