Description

As a Master Trainee in our Digital Food Safety department, your primary task will involve benchmarking software utilized for genomic data analysis from Nestlé’s operations. The objective is to align the existing pipeline with Authorities' requirements regarding Whole Genome Sequencing used in technical assistance to Operations and businesses. To achieve this objective, you will need to:

  • Perform literature review and selection of software for bacterial genome data processing.  

  • Test and benchmark software for bacterial genome data processing. 

  • Develop scripts for pipeline automation (Bash, Python). 

  • Document the work done to ensure traceability and reproducibility of the tasks. 

  • Present work reports to stakeholders (microbiologist, project managers). 

What will make you successful 

  • Good knowledge of microbial genomics followed by a specialization in bioinformatics. 

  • Understanding of Next Generation Sequencing technologies. 

  • Good programing knowledge with scripting languages (e.g. Python) and Linux environment. 

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented person. 

  • Good written and oral communication in English (French is an asset).
