Description
The Genomics and Development of Childhood Cancers lab (https://institut-curie.org/team/saulnier), headed by Olivier Saulnier is looking for a six-months bioinformatics internship.
The team focuses on using cutting-edge high-throughput genomic approaches and genome-wide data analyses to study the spatio-temporal origins of pediatric brain tumors. In addition, we investigate the transcriptional and post-transcriptional programs of the normal development that are hijacked by cancer cells to exploit these vulnerabilities as new therapeutic strategies.
We are looking for a student in bioinformatics to analyse transcriptomic data (bulk and single cell) on both the developing human hindbrain and pediatric brain tumors. The candidate will also investigate cell-to-cell communications between cell types/states in a physio-pathological context.
Training and Skills:
- Background: Student in bioinformatics, computational biology, or related areas
- Scientific skills: computational skills are necessary, and a strong interest in cancer biology or developmental biology is recommended. Previous experience with transcriptomic data is a plus.
- Language skills: good English level and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, to communicate and work in a team.
Location:
Our team is located in the heart of Paris at Institut Curie, one of the world’s leading institutions in cancer research. It represents an excellent and international environment with interdisciplinary expertise and high-quality technological platforms (i.e. Computing cluster).
Offer:
Contract: 6 months, starting early 2025
Salary: According to the current grids
Benefits: Collective catering, reimbursement of transportation (up to 70%)
