Description
The data manager will work closely with the Data Management Core Facility and the Human Genetics and Cognitive Functions units. He will be in charge of the data management of different projects linked to neurodevelopment disoders like autism (AIMS-2-TRIALS www.aims-2-trials.eu, CANDY projects www.candy-project.eu) and new projects from the IHU INNOVAND. The objectives of those research are to better understand the biological underpinnings and to codevelop, with stakeholders « precision medicines ». The data collected in the context of these projects are multimodal (eye tracking, cognitive tests, clinical questionnaires, EEG, fMRI, NIRS, genetics etc.). We therefore need an experienced data manager able to structure a large volume of data that are heterogenous (through their different geographical origins, software sources, formats, contents). Some of the data is already collected, while others are being collected using different tools (REDCap, internal tools or specific to each study) and then stored in our datalake accessible to the whole consortium. The data manager will manage the organization and flow of data as well as plan and organize the sharing of data with the scientific community.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and anticipate data management needs and data workflows taking in consideration normalization and security issues
- Create, test and validate the databases and train users to ensure correct data entry into the database
- Implement consistency checks to validate data and metadata quality and integrity
- Ensure the long-term storage of data (choice of standards, open formats ...) and intervene on the sorting of data to keep
- Facilitate data sharing with the scientific community while implementing rules for data access rights and compliance with regulatory standards as well as standard operating procedures (SOP) and the FAIR principles
- Write documentation/user guides and build workshops and training sessions for the efficient use of the database by scientists and research teams
- Implement process ensuring the findability, the accessibility, the interoperability and the reusability of the data
EXPECTED PROFILES
- Hold a degree in data management or an equivalent level of knowledge (biostatistics, bioinformatics or mathematics…) with ideally more than 2 years of professional experience
- Have experience in programming languages and/or statistical software (eg SQL, Python, R ...)
- Have Experience with a eCRF tool (like REDCap) or how to manage data in a datalake is a plus
- Have strong communication skills and comfortable in an English-speaking environment
- Be dynamic, autonomous and motivated to work closely with scientists as well as with technical teams in an interdisciplinary environment
- Be proficient in English (C1 level)
A previous data management experience in a public/academic-related research center or a hospital would be a plus.
